Nahum 3:6-8

New International Version

⁶ I will pelt you with filth,^(A)
    I will treat you with contempt^(B)
    and make you a spectacle.^(C)
7 All who see you will flee^(D) from you and say,
    ‘Nineveh^(E) is in ruins^(F)—who will mourn for her?’^(G)
    Where can I find anyone to comfort^(H) you?”

⁸ Are you better than^(I) Thebes,^(J)
    situated on the Nile,^(K)
    with water around her?
The river was her defense,
    the waters her wall.
